We at Zen technologies Limited received with great enthusiasm and jubilation the news broken by the Govt of India today telling the world that the nation has achieved a great milestone by reaching 50% of its installed electricity capacity from Green (non-fossil fuel) sources a full five years in advance.
The reason for the added joy for us lies in the realization that Zen is also contributing to the cause of Green Revolution in its own way by spearheading the campaign on the awareness of ‘Green Training’.

Infantry Weapons Training Simulator (IWTS®)
Very simply, Green Training is the kind of training that does not pollute the atmosphere. Training of our armed forces in the conventional way leads to huge environmental pollution. This is so because it involves plying of a large number of tanks, Infantry combat vehicles (ICVs), huge trucks towing artillery and air defence guns along with hundreds and thousands of troops executing multiple training maneuvers in the Tactical Battle Area or TBA. It also includes firing an entire continuum of weapons at the Field Firing Ranges (FFRs). These comprise of small arms to machine guns to tanks guns and an entire spectrum of missiles. All these activities emit huge amount of toxic gases that pollute the atmosphere no end.
In contrast, the training done on simulators is not only realistic, cost effective and immersive, but also highly environmental friendly. This is so because simulator-based training not only dwarfs the need for firing huge quantities of live ammunition – the biggest environmental polluter, it also cuts down on the need to ply hundreds of tanks, ICVs or other equipment in the training area. All this ends up in significant saving of Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.
Zen technologies as a market leader in the field of Combat Training and counter drone solutions is trying to spread the awareness on the criticality and inevitability of adopting green training practices for the future of our planet.
To progress our mission on Green Training awareness, Zen has undertaken two Joint studies back-to-back with TERI – a nationally accredited, not-for-profit policy research organization working in the field of energy, environment and sustainable development.
The results of the Studies have been were astounding. These have proved beyond doubt the tremendous potential of the simulators in saving the environment by achieving tons of savings in the GHG emissions worth Crores of Rs. Here is a grab of the some of the key findings of the Study :-
1. A light 4 wheeler Vehicle Simulator will save 103 Tons of CO2 over a 15 year period yielding a saving of INR 56 Lakhs.
2. A Tank Driving Training Simulator at a Regimental level will save 1919 Tons of CO2 over a 30 year period, amounting to INR 136 Cr or 4.54 Cr per annum.
3. A Field Crew Gunnery Training Simulator at a Regimental level will save 3676 Tons of CO2 over a 30 year period, amounting to INR 381 Cr or 12.7 Cr per annum.
4. Rs 15 Crore investment in simulators over 30 years saves Rs 380 Cores. That is a whopping 2,500% savings.

Study findings show that even a miniscule 15% adoption of simulators by the armed Forces will end up saving astronomical costs besides saving the environment hugely.

Our efforts have been supported by NITI Aayog who are progressing the cause of Green and sustainable technologies at the national level.
The Ministry of Defence is also supporting the cause of Green Training very proactively. Way back in Sep 2021, it has issued a Framework Policy on Induction of simulators in the Armed Forces. This policy is currently under implementation.
With such heavy and holistic involvement in the Green Training, Zen Technologies Limited congratulates Govt of India for achieving this incredible milestone of 50% installed capacity as ‘Green’ and surges ahead in its humble way to spearhead the revolution on Green Training.
Up Up India; Three cheers for Green India!
