Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, the 10 Aug 2025, while speaking at a public event in Bengaluru called for \u2018Zero defect and Zero effect\u2019<\/strong> manufacturing for Make-in-India, meaning flawless products with no environmental harm.<\/p>

It is a matter of great pride for Zen Technologies Limited (Zen) to resonate in letter and spirit with what the PM has stated<\/strong><\/p>

A testimony to this was the performance of our Anti-Drone Systems (Zen ADS) during the currently paused Operation Sindoor. Zen ADS stood tall in effectively countering the drone onslaught by our adversary<\/strong> by disabling and destroying a multitude of drone across the entire spectrum. Zen Anti Drone System \u2013 a slayer of enemy\u2019s drones during Operation Sindoor<\/p>

Not only Anti-Drone Systems but more than 40 different types of Combat training solutions<\/strong> comprising of simulators for small arms, machine guns, mortars, anti-tank missiles, automatic grenade-launchers, Tanks, BMPs and the big guns and missiles of air defence and artillery and more, which are in the hands of our Armed, Para Military and Police forces both in India and globally, perform to perfection with near Zero defects.<\/strong><\/p>

As regards Zero Effect Zen is actually a pioneer that is working tirelessly towards achieving the same.<\/strong> In this, Zen is promoting the awareness on Green Training. Very simply, the term Green Training refers to the type of training that does not pollute the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Conventional training by armed forces involves plying of a large number of tanks, Infantry combat vehicles (ICVs), huge trucks towing artillery and air defence guns along with hundreds and thousands of troops executing multiple training maneuvers in the Tactical Battle Area or TBA. It also includes firing an entire continuum of weapons at the Field Firing Ranges (FFRs).<\/strong> These comprise of small arms to machine guns to tanks guns and an entire spectrum of missiles. All these activities emit huge amount of toxic gases that pollute the atmosphere no end.<\/strong><\/p>

Zen has been spreading the fact that even if a small percentage of the conventional training is shifted to simulators, it will save tons and tons of Toxic gases that are produced during field training and firing.<\/strong><\/p>

Zen\u2019s assertions are not hollow. These are based on solid scientific research. Towards this, Zen has invested heavily in Green Training awareness. Over the last couple of years it has commissioned two Studies with The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) – a nationally accredited, not-for-profit policy research organization working in the field of energy, environment and sustainable development.<\/strong><\/p>

The aim of these Studies have been to examine how the use of simulator-based training ends in reducing the environmental pollution?<\/strong><\/p>

The results of the Studies have been astounding. Here is a quick grab of some major findings:-<\/p>

– A light 4 wheeler Vehicle Simulator<\/strong> will save 103 Tons of CO2<\/strong> over a 15 year period yielding a saving of INR 56 Lakhs.<\/strong><\/p>

– A Tank Driving Training Simulator<\/strong> at a Regimental level will save 1919 Tons of CO2<\/strong> over a 30 year period, amounting to INR 136 Cr<\/strong> or 4.54 Cr per annum.<\/p>

– A Field Crew Gunnery Training Simulator<\/strong> at a Regimental level will save 3676 Tons<\/strong> of CO2 over a 30 year period, amounting to INR 381<\/strong> Cr or 12.7 Cr per annum<\/p>

– Rs 15 Crore investment<\/strong> in simulators over 30 years saves Rs 380 Cores<\/strong>. That is a whopping 2,500% savings.<\/strong><\/p>

Study findings show that even a miniscule 15% adoption of simulators by the armed Forces will end up saving astronomical costs<\/strong> besides saving the environment hugely.<\/p>

Zen\u2019s effort of promoting Green training awareness has also been recognised by NITI Aayog who conducted a One Day Workshop on Green Technologies in Dec 2024<\/strong>. NITI Aayog will now be launching the second of the Zen-Teri Study on the Environmental Sustainability Effect of Simulators<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Govt on its part is also pushing relentlessly towards implementing the Zero Effect Training. Towards this the MoD, way back in Sep 2021, has issued a Framework Policy on Induction of simulators in the Armed Forces.<\/strong> This policy which is anchored on the vision of implementing simulation based training across all military domains is currently under implementation.<\/p>

Besides this Zen is also pursuing the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Green Training (CoE).<\/strong> This Centre will provide comprehensive training and education<\/strong> on green technologies and sustainable practices to various communities and organisations<\/strong> at large including military and Police personnel.<\/p>
